Weather Service Offers Interactive Forecast Tool for Rainfall Predictions
The National Weather Service has launched an interactive website that helps users estimate the likelihood of receiving an inch of rainfall over the next three days. The tool allows users to adjust the rainfall amount they are interested in, and the map updates automatically to reflect the forecast.
Additionally, the site provides a table below the maps showing expected three-day rainfall totals, along with low-end and high-end estimates for 22 cities in the Mid-South. The page updates twice daily to provide the latest forecasts.
Officials recommend using the tool for planning and preparedness, especially during the region’s rainy season. The website can be accessed at https://www.weather.gov/crh/pqpf?sid=meg.
