Pontotoc forecast: Highs near 90 early this week, cooler Saturday
Pontotoc is headed for a sunny stretch with afternoon temperatures climbing to around 90 degrees early this week before a cooler turn toward next weekend, according to the National Weather Service’s Sunday morning forecast.
The forecast issued at 6:15 a.m. CDT Oct. 11 calls for a high near 87 on Sunday, with west-northwest winds of 5 to 10 mph. Mostly clear skies are expected Sunday night, with a low around 60.
Monday, Oct. 12, is forecast to reach about 90 degrees under sunny skies. The warming trend continues with a high near 91 on Tuesday and around 92 on both Wednesday and Thursday.
Nights should be cooler: the forecast calls for a low around 60 Monday night, about 63 Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and 62 Thursday night. Skies are expected to remain clear or mostly clear during those overnight periods.
The forecast begins stepping down Friday, with a sunny afternoon and a high near 85. Friday night’s low is forecast around 51, followed by a sunny Saturday, Oct. 17, with a high near 72.
