Pontotoc week ahead: soccer, basketball and state cross-country

Pontotoc’s Oct. 26–31 athletics schedule brings soccer, junior-high basketball and a Saturday state cross-country meet, but families should confirm two entries before making plans. The new Pontotoc Athletics weekly graphic and the district’s event calendar disagree on Monday’s basketball opponent and Thursday’s junior-varsity soccer start time.

Both sources list junior-high basketball at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26. The weekly graphic names Amory, while the district calendar says “JH BB VS. SOUTH” at home. The district office’s published number is 662-489-3336 for families seeking confirmation.

The two sources agree on Tuesday’s soccer game against Houston at 5 p.m.; the district calendar places that game at home. Junior-high basketball travels to Guntown on Thursday, Oct. 29, for a 5 p.m. start.

Thursday also includes JV soccer against Oxford at home. The weekly graphic lists 5 p.m., but the district’s event page lists 7 p.m. Supporters should check with the school before traveling rather than assume either published time has been confirmed.

Saturday, Oct. 31, has two 10 a.m. listings: state cross-country in Clinton and a basketball jamboree at home. The notices do not identify individual cross-country race assignments or the jamboree opponents.
