Ecru changes trick-or-treat route; keep Highway 15 and fire access clear

Families heading to Ecru’s Main Street trick-or-treating Tuesday, Oct. 27, should follow a new route between Old 15, beside the Post Office, and Railroad Avenue, next to the Tanglefoot Trail. The town’s event flyer lists 5:30–6:30 p.m. for the downtown gathering.

A police notice shared by the town Monday night and repeated Tuesday morning says there will be no parking on Highway 15 or in front of the fire department. Those areas need to remain clear so firefighters can get trucks out if an emergency occurs.

The Ecru Volunteer Fire Department will bring a truck downtown for children to visit, instead of using the fire-department building as the stop. The notice also asks adults to stay with their children throughout the event.

Businesses, church groups and civic groups setting up along Main Street are asked to arrive around 5 p.m. The town cautions that some streets may be closed; the public event begins at 5:30 p.m. All times are local Central Daylight Time.

The town’s Tuesday reminder also points visitors toward pumpkin displays and voting at Pannell Park. Our earlier report, linked below, covers that contest; tonight’s route and parking notice adds the travel details families need before heading downtown.
