PEPA highlights paperless billing and online account tools
Pontotoc Electric Power Association is reminding customers that paperless billing offers online bill copies and billing history, along with email reminders to pay.
In an Oct. 10 reminder, PEPA said the service lets customers view an exact copy of a bill, print billing history and receive an email reminder to pay. The utility describes paperless billing as free; that statement concerns the billing service, not a promise that every payment method carries no fee.
For customers who have not registered, PEPA’s online guide says to have the 12-digit account number from the top left of the bill ready. From the customer portal linked on PEPA’s website, select “Sign Up” and follow the registration prompts. The utility’s guide says an activation email follows completion of the setup form.
Once registered, customers can use the portal to check a balance or due date, review statements, monitor utility usage and make payments. Those tools provide a way to check account details without a trip to the office.
An email reminder should not be confused with enrollment in automatic payments. PEPA lists Autopay as a separate option: customers log in, choose “Make A Payment,” select “Enable Autopay” and complete the prompts. Its guide says enrolled bills are then paid on the due date.
