Expected rainfall remains modest, with potential for higher totals in northeast Mississippi

Rainfall totals are not expected to be significant across most of the region Wednesday, according to weather forecasts. The National Weather Service predicts about half an inch of rain for most areas.

However, if thunderstorms develop in northeast Mississippi, higher rainfall amounts could occur, officials said. The possibility of stronger storms in that area could lead to localized heavier rainfall.

Overall, forecasters say residents can expect generally light rain, with only isolated areas experiencing heavier downpours. No severe weather warnings are currently in effect, but officials advise staying alert for updates.
