12-Year-Old Actress Henley Gillespie to Star in ‘A Hairy Tale’ at Pontotoc Community Theater

Pontotoc, Miss. — Twelve-year-old Henley Gillespie is set to return to the stage as Ernestine in the upcoming production of “A Hairy Tale” at Pontotoc Community Theater. This marks her second play, and she said one of her favorite aspects of theater is making new friends, according to the theater.

Gillespie previously appeared in “On Christmas Day in the Morning,” and she also enjoys walking, drawing, and listening to music when not rehearsing. She has a talent for drawing, particularly creating detailed eyes, and can crochet as well, her family said. Her favorite food is French fries, which she considers a perfect post-rehearsal snack.

The play, a humorous fairy tale, will be performed at the theater located at 106A North Main Street in Pontotoc. Showtimes are June 5 at 7 p.m., June 6 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and June 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10, cash only at the door, with online sales available up to one hour before each performance.
