Tropical Storm Arthur Approaching Texas Coast, Expected to Bring Heavy Rain to Mid-South

A satellite image shows Tropical Storm Arthur just off the Texas coast, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee. The storm is expected to make landfall within the next six hours.

Forecasters say the storm will bring significant tropical moisture to the Mid-South on Thursday. Impacts are expected to be limited to periods of heavy rainfall, mainly over northern Mississippi, the NWS said.

Residents are advised to monitor updates from the National Hurricane Center’s Atlantic division for the latest information on Arthur’s track and strength.
