Severe Weather Threats Expected in Parts of Arkansas and Missouri Today

The National Weather Service in Memphis issued an early morning update indicating a slight risk of severe weather in parts of northeast Arkansas and the Missouri Bootheel. The risk level is 2 out of 5 and is expected to last throughout the day.

Forecasters warn that damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall are the primary concerns. A 2% tornado risk is embedded within the slight risk area, although confidence remains low that a tornado will occur. However, officials say it cannot be entirely ruled out.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay alert for changing weather conditions and to follow local weather updates. No injuries or damage reports have been confirmed at this time.
