Severe weather forecast for West Tennessee with chances of heavy rain and storms

Multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms are expected across West Tennessee through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis.

A marginal risk — level 1 out of 5 — for severe storms is in effect for today. The primary threats include damaging winds and localized heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding.

The threat of heavy rainfall is expected to increase overnight into Tuesday, with showers and thunderstorms potentially training over the same areas. Areas along the far northeast portions of West Tennessee are most likely to see higher rainfall totals.

Residents are advised to monitor weather updates and be prepared for possible localized flooding and severe weather conditions through the next 24 hours.
