Radar Circles Often Signal No Ground Precipitation, Experts Say

When radar returns form a circle around the radar station from a distance, it usually indicates that precipitation is not reaching the ground, according to weather experts.

However, as the morning progresses, some sprinkles may be observed. This occurs as dry air beneath the clouds begins to saturate.

Areas north of Interstate 40 have the best chance for sprinkles, while northeast Arkansas could see light measurable rainfall by midday, the National Weather Service said.
