Pontotoc man killed while walking in Pontotoc county over weekend

A Pontotoc man was killed while walking in Pontotoc county over the weekend, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

MHP reports that a vehicle struck and killed the pedestrian early Sunday morning in Pontotoc County.

31-year-old Michael Hatcher of Pontotoc was in the eastbound lane of Highway 278 near the Three Rivers Landfill when he was struck by the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead on the scene by Pontotoc County.

There was no report of any charges being filed.
