Heat Advisory Extended for Parts of Tennessee and the Mississippi River Region

A heat advisory is in effect for areas along and west of the Mississippi River from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee.

The advisory warns of heat index values between 105 and 109 degrees. Forecasters expect near-record to record warmth on Monday and Tuesday as an upper-level ridge builds across the Lower Mississippi Valley.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to take precautions against heat-related illnesses, including staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged outdoor activity during peak heat hours.

The National Weather Service continues to monitor weather conditions and will provide updates as needed.
