UMMC opens student food pantry to combat food insecurity

The University of Mississippi Medical Center has opened a new Student Union Food Pantry to help address food insecurity among students. The initiative aims to support students’ basic needs, which can impact their ability to fully participate in their education, according to UMMC officials.

UMMC’s effort reflects a commitment to the well-being of future health care professionals throughout their training. The food pantry is part of a broader initiative to support student success beyond academics, officials said.

More information about the program is available on the university’s website.
