SKYWARN weather spotter training scheduled in Tupelo next week

A SKYWARN in-person training session is scheduled for Oct. 6 in Tupelo, Mississippi, according to the National Weather Service.

The session will begin at 6 p.m. at the Lee County Board of Supervisors Building. It aims to educate community members on how to identify and report severe weather conditions.

Participants can view the full SKYWARN schedule by visiting weather.gov/meg/skywarn, the agency said.

SKYWARN volunteers play a key role in weather safety by providing timely reports to emergency officials during severe weather events.
