Severe storms expected along cold front in Mid-South on Tuesday

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to form along and ahead of an approaching cold front Tuesday afternoon west of the Mississippi River, according to the National Weather Service.

Some of these storms may become strong or severe, with damaging winds as the primary threat, the agency said. However, weak wind shear is expected to limit the overall coverage of organized severe weather.

Any lingering activity is forecast to weaken Tuesday evening as atmospheric instability decreases across the Mid-South region.
