PEPA warns of heatwave ahead with safety tips
The Philippine Environment and Public Affairs (PEPA) issued a reminder for the public to exercise caution during the upcoming heatwave forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures are expected to be particularly high, prompting health and safety concerns.
PEPA recommends staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water before and during outdoor work to prevent dehydration. They also advise limiting time spent in direct sunlight and taking frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas.
Additionally, PEPA suggests wearing light-colored, lightweight, and breathable clothing. These measures are intended to reflect heat and promote sweat evaporation, reducing the risk of heat-related health issues during the hot weather.
