Mississippi deadline to file and pay income taxes is April 15
Tuesday is the deadline for Mississippi residents to file and pay their individual income taxes, according to the Mississippi Department of Revenue.
Taxpayers who received an extension to file their federal return are automatically granted an extension to file their Mississippi return. However, the extension does not apply to the payment of taxes owed. Payments are still due by April 15 to avoid interest and penalties.
Taxpayers are encouraged to pay their taxes on time to avoid additional charges. For frequently asked questions, visit the Mississippi Department of Revenue website at https://www.dor.ms.gov/individual/individual-income-tax-frequently-asked-questions.
