Temperatures across much of the Mid-South have fallen below the 90-degree mark, offering relief from recent hot weather, according to weather reports.

Highs are expected to remain in the mid to upper 80s through the upcoming weekend, marking a departure from the 90-plus readings that dominated the region in August and early September.

Meteorologists note that the late summer months can still bring temperatures above 95 degrees, but current forecasts suggest a more moderate trend for the near future.
