Memphis Experiencing Record Heat and Marginal Storm Risk

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued an extreme heat warning and heat advisory through 9 p.m. today as temperatures reach their hottest point. Forecasters report heat indices climbing up to 118 degrees Fahrenheit.

In addition to the heat, there is a marginal to slight risk for severe weather late this afternoon into early tomorrow morning. The primary threat is damaging winds, according to the weather service.
