Heatwave to Persist in Mid-South Through Tuesday with Excessive Heat Warnings

A heatwave is expected to persist through Tuesday across the Mid-South, with heat indices exceeding 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee.

An Extreme Heat Warning for temperatures above 110 degrees will be in effect for the Delta regions. A Heat Advisory for indices of 105 degrees or higher covers the rest of the Mid-South. The warning and advisory are in effect from 10 a.m. Wednesday through 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials advise residents to take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses, including staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.
