Heatwave Continues in Memphis as Temperatures Rise, Rain Chances Expected Friday

The National Weather Service in Memphis says an early summer heatwave will persist through the end of the week. Many areas are experiencing heat indices above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, prompting health and safety warnings.

Heat and humidity are expected to keep temperatures high, with heat indices exceeding 100 degrees in several regions, according to the weather service.

Chances for rain and thunderstorms are forecast to increase Friday as a cold front moves into the area. The front is expected to begin lowering heat indices early next week, providing some relief from the high temperatures.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged outdoor activity during peak heat hours, and monitor local weather updates for further changes.
