Heat Advisory Issued for parts of Mid-South as temperatures remain high

A cold front moving through the region is expected to bring significantly cooler temperatures compared to yesterday, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis.

The front is forecast to stall south of the Tennessee-Mississippi state line, allowing heat indices to remain above 105 degrees in southern parts of the Mid-South, the agency said.

As a result, a Heat Advisory has been issued for areas south of the state line from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today. Residents are advised to take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses during the peak heat hours.

Officials recommend staying hydrated, avoiding strenuous activities outdoors, and seeking shade or air-conditioned environments when possible.
