The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a heat advisory as temperatures and humidity combine to produce dangerous heat indexes between 105°F and 109°F on Friday.

Officials recommend residents stay hydrated, avoid direct sun from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and take regular breaks in air-conditioned environments to prevent heat-related illnesses.

The agency urges people working outdoors to be especially cautious and reminds everyone to look out for signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Authorities advise sharing safety tips with friends and family to ensure community safety during the hot weather.
