Dry conditions persist in the Mid-South, but rain expected this weekend

Unseasonably dry conditions have persisted across the Mid-South in recent weeks, according to local weather reports.

A cold front scheduled to arrive tomorrow is expected to increase chances of showers and thunderstorms across the region through the weekend, meteorologists said.

Residents and officials welcome the rain, as soils, waterways, and plants are in need of moisture, the National Weather Service noted.
