Kay Smith to Play Captain Flint in Local Theatre Production of ‘Treasure Island’

Kay Smith has been cast as Captain Flint in the upcoming production of ‘Treasure Island.’ The character is a blind and tottering pirate searching for his stolen treasure map.

Smith, a retired teacher and experienced actress, is also the vice-president of the PREP organization. She is active in the Pontotoc Friends of the Library and Bellevue Baptist Church, and writes a weekly column for the Pontotoc Progress.

In addition to her theater work, Smith enjoys composing poetry. The production will have four performances this weekend, and tickets are available online.
