Wind chills to dip into single digits and teens Monday

The National Weather Service forecasts wind chills will drop into the single digits and teens across the region Monday. Residents are advised to bundle up to stay warm amid the cold conditions.

Forecasters say the low temperatures and brisk winds could increase the risk of frostbite and hypothermia if proper precautions are not taken. Officials recommend dressing in layers, covering exposed skin, and limiting time outdoors.

The cold snap is expected to last through the day before temperatures gradually rise later in the week, according to weather officials.
