Weather Service Seeks Volunteers for Citizen Science Rain Monitoring

The National Weather Service is calling on residents to volunteer as citizen scientists by monitoring rainfall and contributing data through CoCoRaHS, the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network.

Interested individuals can sign up at www.CoCoRaHS.org, according to a message from the Weather Service. The initiative aims to gather accurate precipitation data to support weather forecasting and climate research.

Participants are encouraged to join the ‘Rain Gauge Rally’ campaign and help improve local weather data collection efforts. The Weather Service expressed enthusiasm about engaging the community in scientific observation.
