Study Shows Higher Risk for Mobile Home Residents

According to a recent study, residents living in mobile and manufactured homes are 15 to 20 times more likely to die in a disaster than those in permanent homes, the National Weather Service said.

The agency recommends reviewing safety tips specific to mobile homes. A one-page guide is available to help residents improve their safety measures.

The information was shared as part of the ongoing awareness efforts during National Severe Weather Preparedness Week, which aims to educate the public on disaster readiness.
