Severe Weather Threatens Memphis Area, Tornado Could Not Be Ruled Out
Weather officials say the timing of Thursday’s severe weather has shifted slightly, but the threat remains significant.
Storms are expected to begin in northeast Arkansas during the pre-dawn hours, according to the latest guidance. The main line of storms is forecast to reach the Memphis metro area in the mid to late morning.
Storms are projected to linger longer in north Mississippi, where conditions could become more favorable for tornado development in the afternoon. Officials warn that a strong tornado, rated EF2 or higher, cannot be ruled out.
Residents are advised to stay alert and monitor updates from local weather officials as the situation develops.
