Run the Rainbow race raises funds for Children’s of Mississippi

Every step of the Run the Rainbow race supports Children’s of Mississippi, the state’s only children’s hospital, according to a news release from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

This year’s finisher medal features a colorful design created by Owen Overby, a 9-year-old patient at Children’s of Mississippi. Overby, who was hospitalized as an infant with viral meningitis, helped craft the medal to symbolize hope, healing, and the children who receive care at the hospital.

The race aims to raise awareness and funds for families across Mississippi. The event’s proceeds help support various programs and services at the hospital, according to the university. Details about how the race benefits families statewide are available on the university’s website.
