Pontotoc Theater stages ‘Treasure Island’ this weekend

A production of “Treasure Island” opens this weekend in Pontotoc, offering four performances at various times through Sunday.

Josie Clark Flake, a seventh-grader at South Pontotoc, stars as Laurie at the Admiral Benbow Inn. Clark has appeared in several local community theater productions, including “The Enchanted Book Shop,” “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” “A Fairy Tale Christmas Carol,” and “The Nutcracker.”

She is also active in sports and music, playing tennis, volleyball, cheerleading, and leading worship in the Green Valley Youth Band, according to her parents, Jimmy and Johnna Flake.

Performances are scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online at Zeffy or through the theater’s website.

Organizers encourage local residents to attend and support the production this weekend.
