Mississippi tax deadline approaches in 15 days
Mississippi residents have 15 days remaining to file and pay their individual income taxes, according to the Mississippi Department of Revenue.
An extension to file a federal return automatically extends the deadline to file a Mississippi return. However, the extension does not apply to payments. Taxes owed are still due by April 15 to avoid interest and penalties, officials said.
Taxpayers are encouraged to pay their taxes on time to avoid additional charges. For frequently asked questions, visit https://www.dor.ms.gov/individual/individual-income-tax-frequently-asked-questions, the department added.
