Mid-South communities sought for storm impact updates to improve maps

Officials are collecting information from residents in Lake County, Tennessee; St. Francis and Lee counties in Arkansas; McNairy County, Tennessee; and Tunica County, Mississippi, to better document the effects of a recent winter storm.

A preliminary map shows snow and sleet totals from the storm that ended Sunday afternoon. The storm occurred from Friday night through Sunday afternoon.

Road conditions remain hazardous, with icy and slick surfaces reported across the region. Authorities advise drivers to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary as roadways continue to be dangerous.

Residents are encouraged to share their experiences to help improve the accuracy of future weather impact maps, according to officials.
